I do not have hardening of the "categories," therefore I am open
to all ways of being and doing.
As a client-centered therapist, my client is always in charge. I believe each of my clients has all the strength and resources to get where they want to go. I do not attempt to fix my client, as I do not believe they are broken. The bottom line is that what I do is a combination of many things. It's reparenting, it's about loving the client and being unconditional. It's having understanding, providing stress reduction, and giving a positive sense of self-esteem. It's giving practical advice, it's providing ways to reduce anxiety and depression and offering insight into destructive patterns. It's a consistent process of refining behaviors so it produces the desired state of mind. I work with couples, kids, and families. My counseling is not about good or bad, or right or wrong.
